In an eight-part multi-platform series ‘Follow the Food’, BBC Global News explores the stories behind feeding the world’s ever-growing population.
Presented by renowned Botanist James Wong, the series will examine how agriculture, science, AI technology, and the consumer can overcome this challenge – while also asking whether the agricultural/horticultural industry can do so in a way that doesn’t harm the planet.
In episode 7, ‘A Smarter Harvest’, Follow The Food focuses on how using data can help growers produce more and high quality food. Among other things, Wong explores how collecting this data can increase crop yields and improve product quality.
